Calm book is the perfect companion and inspiration for mindful activities and is written by the co-founder of the super popular and my personal favourite meditation app, Calm.

I am a huge fan and a daily user of the Calm app for many years now, and I bought the Calm book around the same time as I started using the app in 2015. It takes pride of place on my bookshelf and is a book that everyone is curious to pick up and look through. Calm is one of those books that you can pick up and flick to any pages and it will probably be exactly what you need to read or be reminded of. 

This book is full of short articles, quotes, photographs and drawings of activities that can help us be mindful in daily life and bring about comfort in our wellbeing. It has eight sections – nature, sleep, travel, relationships, work, children, creativity and food and is somehow both visually inspiring and relaxing. It looks like a wonderful creative art journal that someone has pieced together of all their favourite things that make them feel better, and it makes you want to create your own version of this book!

Calm book is always one I am drawn to when I’m exhausted or in pain and need some inspiration. It’s practical, inviting and not intimidating as some activity books can be. ‘Start where you are’ is the impression this book gives you.

It would be a perfect gift for anyone of any age and for any occasion, especially if they were going through a hard time or needed comfort. Even though it was released a few years ago, it hasn’t dated at all; in fact, it shows how strong the Calm company core branding and reason for business is that it is still consistent to this day.  

If you love the Calm app, any books or resources about mindfulness, meditation or slow living, then this is the perfect book for you and is worth checking out.
